Cheers guys for all the info , on the strength of what you've said , a few hours ago I've ordered my DW088k I'll let you know how I get on ....... ( oh and I finally got round to joining her properly after reading the pages for about 6 months as a "guest" !!! )

The o88k pulse mode means it can be used with a reciever
And can be used for floor screeding

just got me De Walt today , and Love it already , I'm fitting a kitchen very close to home , and my Mrs phoned me when it arrived this morning , so I could pop home and collect it and take it back to work ,
used it to level all the brackets for the wall units , and it was brill , did'nt take any time at all , I've double checked them with my Spirit level and my straight edge and every thing is perfect , really happy with it .

Got to say as well that I'm impressed with MyToolShed where I bought it from , ordered it at around 2am Monday , and it arrived at 10:30 Tuesday , good service and at £154 , a reasonable price as well .

I got a Stanley CL90. never let me down once in 6 years. had to buy a new pole for it though which I got for a song. Not the £90 Stanley wanted !

Mine,s magnetic and what I do is put a screw in the wall and hang a wood saw up and stick the laser to the saw you can then slide it up or down

Good idea there afright. I might modify your idea and use a metal ruler instead. I just got a PLS 180 from Toolstop for £199. My only concern is that the laser line has a small break/shadow in the red line (it's like there is something obstructing the projection of the laser). Anyone else have this issue?

Got the DW087 and its such a lovely piece of kit, feels like a real piece of quality when you take it out the case and put the batteries in....lovely....
