Wife's expecting first child in 8 weeks and she gave me a list of things we need from Mamas and Papas website.

I'll not be so crude as to disclose values, needless to say the total amount, in cockney rhyming slang, goes something like "BAG OF SAND"!! :yikes::yikes::yikes:

It did strike me, as I clicked on "checkout" with tears streaming down my face, that for the same price I could buy a brand new Dewalt wet saw, Rubi TX700N, have a spankingly good night out on the tiles (pun intended), AND still have enough left for a taxi and a bag of pork scratchings 🙂drool5🙂

Are they really worth it??!! Is my life now over??!!

First mistake was buying everything from Mamas and Papas.... they are HUGELY expensive. However, if only the best is good enough for Mrs Jimbob and new Baby Jimbob then you'll have to bite the bullet

best wishes for a smooth delivery

Thanks.
Of course only the best is good enough for Mrs Jimbob, she married me didn't she??:lol::lol:

Don't think she'd be too happy if I came home with a sparkling new cutter though...."Hi honey, this was a really good deal, so I knocked the pram on the head...."!!

hey jimbob firstly congrats on your soon to be first child....
secondly it gets more expensive mate....

Congrats be a great time for you. Like cj says it gets more expensive, lots more !!!:yikes:

if you get a tx1200n, it has wheels, so could double up as a pram!! Hope all goes well for you all:thumbsup:

If you think that's expensive don't even think of the long term costs. I mean over the next 30 years or so. Only tip is to try to think in terms of economy of scale. We had 3 daughters so were able to reuse stuff at least twice and some went round the family and came back several times.

Hope all goes well - wouldn't be without them.

My exwife had a neice that worked at mothercare and she let us know when the staff sales were on, saved a fortune:thumbsup:

Kids, how much? ha ha ha ha sorry jimbob, but you'll never have money again.
Good luck to you and the missus mate, it's not the money really, it's how fast they age you.

Cheers for all the good wishes  Guess I'd better get used to being skint and walking around covered in vomit

Good tip about the TX1200N doubling up as a pram, but unfortunately I don't think it comes with a car seat

it's not proper vomit tho jimbob. it's just milky sicky wet stuff. no chunks involved.

baby wipes work really well at getting baby sick and baby milk out of fabric sofas and carpets. just be prepared for lighter patches after you've cleaned up. or buy a leather sofa and a ground sheet

Maybe not, but anything which has gone down and come back up is not good!

I'd love a leather sofa, but the poxy cat would rip it to shreds :mad2:
Think I'll just have to make do with dust covers over everything

best bit is when babies sneeze when you are feeding them and you spent all day chiselling 'food' off your face. happy days

I never appreciated the sicky burps that soaked all down my back... got wise to that and used a towel over whichever shoulder the baby was being burped on :hurray:

I started this thread looking for reassurance - I've now been completely put off!!

How do I put something up on the "For sale" forums??!!

it still amazes me that something so small can fill a nap every hour and the smell nearly always made my eyes water:8:
