If I can get through to the customer tomorrow I will get him to read these posts and perhaps get the Insurance firm involved.

By the way when was the last time anyone visited a tile supplier that employed security guards? I am not saying that Salford is rough, ( I love Manchester) but they have been robbed 3 times in 12 months by armed thieves! Baseball bats, 3x2 timber with 6 inch nails and all for no more than £150 at any one time, unbelievable.
Very nice guys though. (the staff, not the wob dogs)

I think letting the poor customer know what is going on in his bathroom would be a very good deed for the day.

Frightened to think what it will look like when he eventually does get a coyya to do it

You did the right thing mate - boils my urine when I hear that 'good tiler' phrase :incazzato: Maybe a 'good plasterer' would have left a better job.....

I've had the same thing over the last couple of days - two scabby 800mm shower enclosures 2.8m high and tiled with 6x6 white - it's taken me two bloody days just to tile them due to the state of the rendering and when I pulled the gaffer on the job yesterday, he sniggered and said 'ahh, didn't think Billy was paying much attention to his plastering....' - yes mate but it's my bloody tiling that is seen.... :incazzato: Would have normally insisted on flattening the alls out first, but they had only bought 3 bags of sticky and I only just managed with that

had the same this week but for an old lady in leigh....went to quote on her kitchen to find that platerer had plastered over the bottom row of tiles and created a 10mm step at the bottom, he had also finished the plaster about 5 inches from the corner leaving the plaster board visible, when i explained to the lady that this was not a suitable surface to tile onto(mosaics) she phoned the plasterer who said that i obviously wasnt a professional tiler as all the tilers that he knew could overcome this problems?:thumbsdown:

That sort of comment just gripes me, doing plastering over 28 years, that should never be left like that :mad2::mad2:

sorry forgot to mention that he had charged her £300 to plaster under the units to the worktop on only 2 walls, now i have never plastered a wall as it is a truly skilled job imho but this seemed quite expensive seeing as no plasterboarding was involved. my apologies to all plasterers if this is about the right price.

I just have to check as i'm sure i'm reading this wrong. You say the plaster has skimmed over the tiles. On both Diamonds and CJ's job?

A fiver for the first person who can give me the weight per square meter for that. I'm pitching my guess at 100gsqm
