Can anyone help me with this problem, firstly I am not a tiler but a joiner. I am tiling my bathroom and want to know if I should remove the architrave around the door and then finish the tiles around the door lining with the edge beeding or is it normal to just leave the architrave around the door. I just want the best finish. Thanks and sorry for such a stupid question. Dave

Leave the archatrive around the door (assumin g this is the bit that protrudes from the frame that is mitred?)

We call it facing up here! I generally leave them on except in wet rooms, problem is with the trim the grout tends to form hairline cracks with the door being banged shut. Round the facings i usually run a neat bead of Silicon where the tiles meet, same as in all corners as grout tends to crack in these locations especially in new builds.

ive had more problems than its worth ,tell the customer that you wont do it,
trev knows

Leave it on buddy and then run a nice looking seal up the door frame when your done, this way you don't have to worry too much about getting your cuts perfect as the seal will hide any rough edges.
