Ha, I've done it a couple of times, though thankfully never more than one full wall before noticing, then ripping them all down, fixing border in like a mad man and scraping and cleaning the tiles that had been pulled from the wall to reset them all before the customer decided to come and have a look at how things are going.

i started to tile a kitchen once, all the tiles were in the garage and the customer had brought a box in for me to start, i said are all the tiles the same and she said yes. So i proceeded to tile where the extractor is and got the 100 tiles on in about an hour. Customer comes in and says thats lovely. so i go and get another box out and its a different colour!!!:mad2: i look at the other 4 boxes and they are all different colours!!!! so i ask the customer if they are the tiles she ordered and she says yes. So i say i thought you said they were all the same to wh ich she replies " i thought you were on about the shape of them" Any how removed the tiles and salvaged the ones i had cut and started again. What a morning it was.

lol I did this last month. Almost exsactly the same thing I sware to god.

Tell you what does pee me off is when doing a job and the customer says i will just leave it upto you where to place the decor insert tiles. so i say is there anywhere you dont want me to put them, they say no. so plan it out getting them spot on in the room Then they come back and say "oh sorry we have bought a mirror to go on that wall or "thats where we have our kettle, microwave etc:mad2::mad2::mad2: Just bite your lip and manouvre them about.

Did a travetine bathroom last year. put the 1st row of tiles on (60x40) on fri. Went back mon to find a delivery of travetine skirts arriving. Spoke to the client but he was adamant he wanted them so had to remove all the tiles!!!!!! Not my cup of tea but he was over the moon

I did an all white bathroom and the customers had some patterned tiles thay wanted dotted about, they said I could put them where i wanted, but I insisted they marked the walls where they wanted them. It'd be sods law I'll put them in the wrong place. I politely reminded them its not my room and they have to live with it!

I've had that loads.and invariably they will come back and say ' I don't like that one there' etc. I do the same ..make them mark on the wall exactly where they want them!..which is usually the most illogical (as a tiler!) place for each one!..but then it's their decision!
My worst muck up ever was as an apprentice I got taken to a job in a huge barn conversion where the company I worked for had fixed maybe 100 odd meters of marble. The tiler I was with told me to go and remove the hardboard covering over the tiling (held together with gaffer tape) being the bright spark I was I ran a stanley knife thru the joints in the board (8x4's) then started removing them...I can still remember the panic I felt when I saw I had scored 8 x 4 outlines into ALL the tiling!:yikes:
The tiler went white then red then blue with rage...I still to this day don't know how I didn't lose my job!..what an idiot!!..that was a proper 'go and sit in the van' job!

I dont mind using poetic license with decors, although i have put one on a blank wall only to find there was a heated towel rail going there.

I get irritated with 100x100 coloureds in random pattern in kitchen splash backs when they ask to move some around as its not 'random' enough!
