Use a temp sealer on the face of the tiles...if you are worried..

Which tiles are they to have you worried about grouting them.?

They are the ceramic sicily wall tiles on the link below. They don't have a gloss finish and I'm concerned about getting grout on the face of the tiles. It's took me long enough to tile the walls and I don't want to spoil them by getting them covered in grout.

Any advice would be appreciated

There ceramic, should'nt be any problem just grout in small areas or just fill the joints without going all over the tile

I have put those tiles on twice before...one job was a floor and theother a bathroom wall job..

Quite a sizey tile arn't they..?

They will grout up no probs normally...what i will say though, is don't leave the grout too long as they are a porous biscuit and quite a rough surface to them and you don't the grout setting to quick....but deffo ok to grout normally..

I'm a bit concerned now that you've stated they're porous. I have fitted them on the walls in the bath shower area.

By porous, i mean the tiles biscuit...it is a red clay biscuit but fine for what you have...they have a matt glazed finish ...so don't worry...

No I don't have a grout float at present. How would I remove grout from the face of the tile if I go down this route? Would I have to wait until the grout is dry before washing the tiles down? Surely I couldn't wash them down whilst the grout is still wet?

I've ripped the old suite out and the old floor, strengthened the new floor, had the walls replastered, done the electrics and plumbing myself, fitted a new bathroom suite and pumped thermostatic shower, boxed in, waterproofed, tiled and trimmed. I can see light at the end of the tunnel and I'm not about to give up now, especially on the grouting.

Having said that, I'm dreading doing the Silicon and may well get a pro in to do that but feel that grouting should be within my capabilities.
