Hi
While in a local tile supplier getting prices for a job, they advised grout admix gt1, the background was 12mm hardibacker, adhesive to used be was flexi adhesive and porcelain tiles, they said it would aid flex properties in the grout in case of movement of boards.
Is it really needed are is it just an extra cost.
Cheers
D

Depends......
Is the substrate that bad you need to add gti to the grout,if it is you need to get that sorted first.
Can you not just use flexible grout? you normally cant add admix to an already flexible grout.
Adding admix will make it harder to clean up the grout haze.

i only use it on upstairs bathroom floors even when theyve been lined with nmp board ...does make the grout very flexible ..make sure you wash of well though residue can be hard work to remove

Last time I spoke to bal they only recommend gt1 admixture to there standered grout for a timber substrate ......dose not say much for there flexible grout Imo.... or maybe there trying to screw you for more money........anyway you wouldn't want to loose you3r 25 year guarantee would you...😉
