Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a product or alternative way to finish a 25mm depth at a door threshold?
Tiling onto overboarded floorboards which when it gets to the doorway needs a bar or something else that can ramp down to the floorboards as there is no other flooring (i.e. Carpet/laminate) in the next room.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers.

In these situations I always get a hardwood threshold made at a local joinery shop normally thickness of tiled floor with a flat piece of about 50 mm wide tapering down ( splay) about 18 mm to allow for carpet and underlay . If going to floorboards I never go less than 10mm on the thin edge so wood doesn't split .

As above.
My local builders merchant stocks hardwood thresholds. Just plane down or cut to suit. Gliw in with stixall, s
Apply wood sealer and when dry seal the gap with colour matching Silicon.

I'am still using the oak treads from a staircase that was removed 20 years ago!
Couldn't believe my luck when they said it was going in the skip.

Pop down to Homebase. In the wood section they will have lengths of timber mouldings.

I recently made up 2 thresholds with £6 worth of mouldings. Glue and screw the into the floor and varnish/paint to the colour of your choice. You might have to make up the height by using two different sized mouldings (one on top of the other).

Alternatively, use a piece of skirting board (with a tapered edge).

It all depends on the thickness of your door reveal.
