Hi all
Only just got round to using my Dewalt 24000 in anger (switched it on and ran water through it when first purchased) and cant seem to make the pump work properly. If I pour water down the pump from a watering can it will eventually start working and continue all day but once drained then started again I have to get the watering can out! is this normal, has anyone had this prob or am I missing something here? Brill cutter otherwise!!:mad2:

Not really, Mine has been working fine the last 3 days, just need to make sure there is enough water though.
Try putting it in a bucket of water and see if that sorts it, If so then you dont have enough water in the tray or teh pump isnt sitting in the correct position

Hi Sir Ramic.
Water was full to the brim so tried in bucket still no joy. Seemed to need forcing down with the watering can. The suppliers (Marshall Parsons) have told me the pump might have gone sticky with it standing so long so maybe a little more use will cure it. Does your pump sit on its side or on the intake?

thanks dave sent a e mail ,will hope for his reply ,thanks again

Thanks Dave and TT, Ive just disconnected the pipe from the blade end and run the pump and it seems to work fine if it is lying on its side even in shallow water as long as one of those two small holes on the back is submerged. Tried it several times and seems fine now. Only trouble is its started to smell very hot...hope ive not overcooked something by running like that!!😳 But Great thank:thumbsup: you all for all the responses and ill give Roy a quick shout. Many thanks:hurray:

I'm not surprised to her this problem, I have exactly the same.
If I set it up, I can be sure it will not prime. tried all sorts, from inspecting the connectiones for sucking air, clip restrictoe on and off, sucked water through while running (not the safest thing to do), overfilled the try and so on.
Checked the pump is spinning OK and no debris or cuttings.
What does work is to take the pump out and submerge it in a bucket then start up.
It will prime up straight away. Let it run a bit.
It's then a case of getting turning off and getting it back in the tray before you lose water and prime.

This is my only gripe about the unit, other than that, I personally could not tile without it.
