Have just put down dark grey/black polished porcelain tiles and have decided to go with a really dark grout (used 3mm spacers). I used bal grey wide joint on my bathroom and want one way more dark than that. I was looking at the bal superflex charcoal.

Is it dark? What are the alternatives...

jgw1 yes it is dark if you do use it make sure you are carefull near the carpet i used the charc the other day and it still wont come off me

Is the mapei black a proper black? I want just off black I reckon. If the Mapei isn't exactly black that would suit, otherwise the Anthracite seems the better bet.

Also weber do a fine wall and floor grout in anthracite/charcoal, it's called stoneset, and it won't scratch the tiles as the powder is like flour, it's also very easy to get off the tile face if not left too long.

I'v noticed the mapei black turns greyish,
i need about 40kg of black for tomorrow to grout outdoor slate steps!!! not sure what to buy myself.

this was bal charcoal

BAL Charcoal comes up quite dark, but beware of efflorescence!

Mapei (great finish / no problems) or Ardex (nice finish / no problems and local supply for me) would be my choice.
