Hi all again.

I'm trying to prep my concrete floor for porcelain tiles. It's just a small 1.5m x 2.5m utility room so I am giving it a go myself.

When I have lifted the lino that was there I've discovered 2 layers of old https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ tiles below.
The bottom tiles have a yellow ish green https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ that is in places sticking to the concrete rather than the tile. I've done my best to scrape alot of it up. But its hardly now prepped for the new ones. It seems in the past someone has 'levelled the floor with a thin layer of cement or concrete. There are a few bits where this base has lifted when lifting the old tiles so it's not perfectly even.
I've attached a photo of where I am at. I just can't now establish what the best way forward is.
1. Use https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ remover to fully clean the concrete?
2. Overlay it as is with a new self levelling compound?
3. Someone suggested just using Mapei S2 straight over the top of this as it is?

P.s. please don't judge me for the fact the units are in. It is how it is and it's too late to go back on this one now.

Use a heat gun to soften the glue and remove as much as possible, then slurry coat the floor and slc. Ready to go once dry.
Thanks thats a great help. Just to make sure I am not being incredibly dim as a beginner....

1. Remove glue as best as possible. Heat gun idea is genius. I was concerned about using a solvent as it might affect the new coatings.

2. 'Slurry coat' so I believe that will be sealing the concrete floor. I'm looking at 'Mapei Primer G'

3. Then SLC which will be the Self Leveling Compound. Mapei Ultraplan Renovation Screed 3240.

2. Slurry coat , sbr primer mixed with https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ to create a better bond. Wants to be fairly wet mix. Check https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ for mixing ratio.
