Clear glass brick mosaic wall tiles.

Doing 4 metres of clear glass brick mosaic (20mm x 40mm each brick) splash backs soon, she wants chrome trims used even on the diagonal bricks stepping up to the cooker hood.

Any tips on cutting these especially for external corners, no trims to be used?

Anybody used DMT diamond sharpeners instead of carb stone?

Is there an easier way of buttering each tile before applying to wall to prevent striping?

Any help or advice will be welcome.

Yes but No but Yes, i have done this job, pretty damn pleased with the end result, but don't think "she" was!!! Think she thought the clear glass would turn out 'whiter'.
Any feedback would help - I may have made a mistake which I could remember for the future - not to do the mistake in the future. Any way questions 2-4 are still very relavant.

P.S I find the DMT files absolutely great with all tiles.

Mosaics should be on a net backing or have paper on the front, you trowel adhesive on the wall and then press in the 'sheet' of mosaics and then use4 a grout float or even better an epoxy float which is harder... to press them into the adhesive evenly, but without oozing adhesive through the joints.

I cut them with nippers, and external corners I have used trim and have also done it without by overlapping the cut side with uncut tiles on the joining wall, if that makes any sense, so a little like the old quarry step situation :s

Also, use white adhesive, not your normal wall type stuff - BAL do a good one. 🙂
