Broken bond/brick

When tiling broken bond/brick does everybody get perfect joints,flush joints,even allowing for the wall running off,or does it only take for one bit of the wall to be sticking out,for the whole wall to be ruined?

If your doing brick bond your walls really need to be flat, any deviation will give you lipping

this is a brick bond splahback I did, it looked really good until the downlighters went on:yikes: the tiles had a slight bow in them causing a big shadow to form from the middle of a tile onto the course below; so always check your tiles are flat too

I re-did it on a standard bond, and it looks better (imo)

yep nice job Doug had the same problem myself tiles look good till ya hit the lights :yikes:. i think standard bond looks superb on those tiles much more contemporary mate. Always the way with brick bond tiles do sometimes have a slight curve and if the wall is not 100% its all the more annoying , its something i have discussed more and more with customers either prep or compromise

Beware downlighters,The last bathroom I did there were 2 leds over the bath about 2" out from the wall, when I had the wall tiled I checked it with a lamp held close to the wall to check for any shadows that would emerge when they were wired up.
