The tile size i was using for the broken bond was on one wall was 600mmx333 and the other walls tiles were 1000mmx400mm ,so it was quite hard to get all the tiles flush,i warned customer before hand there might be a bit of a problem getting them all flush, and yes the downlighters dont help.

Before I start a broken bond job, I'd usually lay both tiles down face to face on each other to see if there's any bow in them, then explain to the customer if there is.

Wingn just took the words out of my mouth. I did a job 2/3 weeks back, the customer had bought 600mm x 300mm porcelain. First thing I did was place two tiles face to face, sure enough there was a seesaw efect. I told the customer if you want brick bond get another tiler, luckily he agreed. As for downlights I insist on 90% lux of finished lights in end position. Makes all the diference.:mad2:

Did bond on a floor last week, really expensive porcelian and they were all bowed! Showed the client, but she said go ahead and loved it. Some of the corners were those ones that fall away so it looked even worse.

Have a brick bond to do over Xmas! Going to have to work hard on the 'window' wall! Not good, but not much showing thankfully. (font size basin, BTW Wc & bath)
