Well i have worked as a data inputter, a chef, bar manager, finance manager, a sales rep and now working for myself as a tiler and im only 26!

Definately became a tiler through choice, after tiling yet another bathroom for a friend of a friend i decided that i would actually quite like to do it full time so went away to do some training courses, trawled the internet for the correct way to do the job then posted 7500 flyers through letterboxes in the posher parts of the town which got me my first few jobs and its just gone on from there really

Left school in '82, privately educated, and was about to go to Biggin Hill to join the RAF as a fighter pilot, then just had a complete change of heart, and did a YOP to become an Electrical apprentice, I got put off this by always being shoved in lofts full of itchy fiberglass and who knows what else and thought enough is enough, so I joined Halfords as a pushbike salesman and mechanic and Trainee shop Manager.
Got bored of this and joined Texas Instruments as a Computer Technician Apprentice and got my ONC in Electronic Engineering.
I then joined Randall Electronics and ran a production line manufacturing and testing electronic time controllers for about 2 years. Again, boredom set in, and I left to become a multi-drop 7.5 ton delivery driver for a small flooring firm as a fill in job until I found another post in the electronics industry.
I liked the vibe of the place, and the people were so down to earth I stayed there, and worked my way through the Warehouse as Supervisor and into the Sales Office. From there I became one of the Buying Team for a good few years and got bored again and left.
I joined a mate in the early 90's and we travelled up and down the country doing Laser Light shows, mainly in Yorkshire, and the vibe was fantastic, I think this is the most fun I had in my working life to this point. Work dried up a bit after the technology changed, and a lot of clubs were installing their own laser systems and my mate went into manufcturing them.
So, the flooring company took me back on after a stint of fitting carpets and soft floors, and I set up a proper trade counter and ran that for a couple of years, and went back to the buying office as Buyer and got all the perks. The company went into Ceramic Tiles and I started working with a mate at weekends tiling as I got interested in tiling, then after a couple of years, did a proper training course and started my own company in 2004. The rest is history.
