I don't care if it sounds (wimpey, no not the burgers, for the oldie's ) i like cooking ,its good fun, take you all around the world with (flavours ), get you brownie points with you know who, as i'am typing this i'am just preparing a chilli in the kitchen, me and the Dog,lol i always put Dark chocolate in mine as it just gives it that finish to it that the family say Cor ! what did you do to this dad ! my mrs always has about 7-8 bars of the green & blacks as she cooks excellent cake's ( that is where she is now at collage ) so i can't be the only one ? lets have some confessions ,and maybe good recipes for everyday recession beating meals ?

I make a delicious austrian choccy cake when we have friends or family round. It's out of Mary Berrys cookbook, the lady on Great British Bake Off, and it is fantastic. I don't mind knocking up a cheesecake every now and again. Somehow it's quite therapeutic. Both my parents were qualified chefs before they went into other careers.

My wife bought one of the Kitchenaid mixers recently for an eye-watering £429, but what a difference it makes.

good tip for chilli base is liquidise raw chopped onion and peppers and garlic n chillies,,,mix it with finely diced of the same and fry all off before adding mince really makes the flavour stand out by liquidising it

I love to make a beef in ale stew with Newcastle brown in the slow cooker. I do all the prep the night before then throw it all in the cooker before I go work. Can't beat walking through the door at night and smelling the stew bubbling away in the kitchen

Nout fancy, no fancy tips, just good honest cooking, you know, the stuff that's bad for you, just done a big pan of winter warming beef stew, forgot the dumplings though, oops, replaced with thick slices of tiger bread, I can do all the basics, wish I had the technical skills, time and ingredients for posh nosh lol

Al a Beans on toast any good? Can do oven chips better than Jamie Oliver.

Used to do cheesecakes with my mum when I was a nipper. Couldn't tell you where to start though now.

And I can dial a takeaway like is going out of fashion.

I just love cooking. I make lots of soups. My red chicken soup is awesome. I'm waiting on my pork shoulder defrosting now so I can cook it for five hours in the oven and have it come out ten times better than Chinese roast park. I could go on for hours, making my own pasta, pizza etc!!!

My wife Julie does a bread and butter pudding to die for, my forte is like Dan's beans on toast, I am also good at ordering Kebabs. Julie like Jamie is a trained chef.

well we have just hit the jack-pot ,as my son Tom has come home on leave from the Navy(he is now a trained chef ), and has jumped on the cooking ,nice roast chicken tonight,( very tasty ) so i it will be nice to have a bit of help over the christmas period in the kitchen

I cook most of the time during week and to say I got plunged in at the deep end I think I do (more importantly so does my wife and kids) a decent job...I just wish I could make a suet crust like my mum used to make!

Make my own burgers/meatballs etc , but the one I love is making my bread - by hand - can't beat it , goes down a storm at family do's when I bring my own Foccacia along . Usually do variations of it with olives in or sun dried tommys , a lot easier than people think it is to do.

Diggy :0)

Just knocked this Middle Eastern Stew up. 2nd time I've done it and the missus loves it. Can't be all that bad then
