Am I being petty?

I ordered 100 chrome tile trims off the internet (name of company withheld).
The trim is Genesis chrome ESA100.91
What I received was DSA100.91, but it does not have Genesis written on it. It has the company name as 'Diamond' on the sticker.

I am working in a house that has several bathrooms. I have already started using my Genesis trims from CTD, but need a load more (hence my internet order).

I'm just a bit peed at ordering something and receiving something I am not familiar with. Diamond seem to belong to the brand 'Bostik'.

Also, some of the trim is unusable as it is damaged!

It's a bit late to be ringing the company concerned. Has Genesis been bought out maybe?

suppose its like ordering your shopping online, if they don't have the brand requested in stock they just stick any old stuff in the order lol

I'm not keen on internet shopping, I prefer to see what I'm buying. Why didn't you get the 100 trims from CTD?

I don't know yet, as I have my Genesis ones on site. However, I have just got a mail from the company.......

"Genesis do not have any ESA100.91 in stock. The diamond brand is made by Genesis, not Bostik for sale exclusively in Northern Ireland, and is exactly the same profile as the ESA apart from the punch being diamond shape instead of circles.

I assumed that since the trim is identical apart from the punch that this would be suitable, so I acquired this direct from Genesis for your order.

Please let me know if not, but we cannot replace this with ESA as their is none available."

To answer your question Rookery CTD trims were about £300 more expensive!

I would be chasing for compensation or replacements for damaged ones or refund if you're not happy with match. Could you not speak with ctd to see if a price match could not be negotiated?

every internet buy closes one more shop its only a matter of time before you are all buying blind and what turns up is not what you ordered now if you buy as a company or in a trading name then distance selling does not apply to you buyer be ware

£5.34 per trim. Remember, this is a volume thing. The more you buy the cheaper it is. Will check against Genesis ones tomorrow.

Sean I used to buy boxes of genesis trim our supplier couldn't give us the branded genesis trim as genesis had a distributor in my area what they do to get around this is to manufacture what they call diamond trim it is exactly the same trim as the branded trim if you pm me I will give you my number and please call me and I can let you know where you can get trim at much better prices

As Gary said, Yes, the trim is the same apart from the flange. I checked the trim this morning and I spoke with Genesis who confirmed that they had run out of its own branded trim so supplied me directly with the 'diamond' branded trim.

I also checked my delivery and found 12 damaged trim! I will get a credit from the company I bought from.
