What blocks are we talikng about ? thermalite / other, either way, as long as they're in good condition they're going to be strong enough iirc, I'll try and dig outthe data sheets once we know what blocks you have

You should be able to prime them and then tile using a SPF adhesive.
But wont this involve removing plasterboard, skirting and sockets etc...Now that sounds like a lot of work. You will need to clean the blocks down from all the plasterboard adhesive too .

The skirting is coming off anyway, the sockets are no trouble they can stay where they are, the tiles are no thicker than the plasterboard anyway. A lot less work for me than drilling. Skirting of, plasterbooard of chuck out the window, 1 hour jobs sorted, i will still be drilling and fixing with backers

as long as the plasterboard has been dabbed close and not an inch or 2 away from the wall to level something out :yikes:
