X box 360 ring of death - Tile Advice

hi all,hope someone can help,had the youngest son on the blower last night his x box has stopped workin an is showing "the three red rings of death"am sure this term will be known to some of the younger(than me)members,i bought it last xmas time but not sure if its still in warrenty as i cant remember where i got it (online somewhere) so if anyone has any advice or where they can be repaired aside from microsoft that is,i would be very gratful.

you ll have a years warranty take it back quick my xbox controller stopped working and i took it back some xbox consoles have been having a few problems

I think microsoft extended the warranty for the ring of death fault because it was found to be a design fault, i think it was something to do with the console overheating. If not a computer repair shop will be able to fix it for a fee.

There are video guides on Youtube for fixing this, if it's out of warranty. My mate's done a couple now, and it's not hard.

If you decide to do it, don't put the heat-sinks back with the original clips, as they become too loose. Replace with nuts n bolts. I can get you the B&Q part numbers if you need them.

BTW you will need a heat gun. My mate bought a cheap one from Lidle (about a tenner i think).

Just cost me £65 to have my younger lad's x box 360 repaired, out of warrenty............and now they go to Germany for repair and not Havant in Hampshire where they used to send them.

ok guys,i s**t you not here,(forget my problem,i am speaking generaly)this site is awesome,if you measure the" brain power"and good intentions of the members on here,and how people help each other for no reward other than being nice then i think it restores some faith in human nature.OMG if people who run the ******* country could be made to spend a few days trawling this forum then we may not be in the mess were in and they might remember or learn some values.
