Which Sander,

When sanding painted walls which type of sander would you recommend, Palm Sander, Orbital Sander, or one of the regular sheet sanders, Cheers🙂

I would use a belt sander that comes with a vaccum attachment. The only problem is if the wall is painted, if so then it quickly clogs up the belt or pad. For small jobs I tend to use the fein machine.

Those fein's are a decent tool to have. Just did a search for them online and found the following.

Those Feins look good but are a bit pricey for me at the moment, gotta job up and coming at the end of the month and the walls have been painted so need to know which type of sander is best, anymore ideas.

Taxxman, are belt sanders not a bit harsh.

Hi Paul, what sort of paint is it? you may be able to get away with scoring the walls and then priming with a neat P51 primer and then straight on with your adhesive.

Test an area of the paint to see if it is stuck to the wall properly by putting some sparky tape on it, leave for half hour then peel it off. If a load of paint comes off with it then you will have to strip but if it comes off clean then depending what paint type it is you can do what i said above.

Failing that mate....what Kapitan says is spot on.... tell the customer you can do it but will have to charge a daily rate which should be £150. So because your such a decent and honest feller it would be much better for them financially to strip it themselves. Works every single time with me mate.
