Hi everyone,
I am trying to tile my bathroom walls which are newly plastered. I bought some tiles before I realised that a limit of 20 kg/m squared is recommended for tiling on this surface. I have since calculated weight of my tiles including adhesive as 20.3 kg/ m squared. Is this sailing too close to the wind or is there enough safety margin in the recommended limit for me to get away with it? my tiles are 316mm x 452mm, 9mm thick.

Welcome along, just to clarify, are the walls rendered then plastered or plaster board then plastered?

thanks all for your input so far
I forgot to include the grout. Now makes it 20.6kg/m squared
Three walls rendered, other wall plasterboard then all plastered.

You won't have any issues being 600g over, as Faithhealer said you could always overboard with backer boards.
