Waterproof tape

Using AquaDefence to seal an en-suite floor today & ran out of Mapei tape.
Got me thinking, the stuff is a fortune, what other tapes do peeps use?
Any good recommendations?

I found the Bal tape was'nt cheap either but used some fine body work stuff from Halfords which gets you a m2 for about a fiver if memory serves me right, cut into strips and felt exactly the same as Bal tape.

Tilemaster do a good tape for the paint on systems!!

This is what I use all the tile for wetrooms and tanking showers/overbath showers

Mega Waterproof Self Adhesive Joint Sealing Tape 80mm wide x 10m Long

Now that's a far better price Bri,
£24.99 for 5m of Mapei from ScrewFix,
£52.52 for 10m of Mapei from TileGiant.
CTD will be much the same for Mapei tape I guess.

CTD were £100.59+Vat for a 15kg of aquadefence & I could have got it out of ScrewFix for £100.

7kg of weber sys.protect is £32 inclusive from ctd, that's just for the liquid then the tape is £18. The liquid will easily do 6 m2 with 2 coats.

That's a great price for that tape, I use the mega tanking kits all the time now , find them excellent !

I think I pay about £22 for for the tape

I actually buy a tanking kit for £43 and I can tank 2-3 showers, includes pair of gloves and brush, but have to buy extra tape as 10m roll generally does 1.5 showers
