Guys.

As most of you know last week I finished my UFH job and a beauty it was too.

However one question.

When my plumber/electrician who I had phone to do ther connection heard about the job the first thing he asked was 'what kind of boiler is it?' to which i replied Combi.

He then asked 'where does the gas pipe go?'

luckilly no-where near.

Apparently he said that UFH should not be placed on a floor where there is a gas pipe under the floor like in many houses where the combi boiler is in a cupboard.

Couldnt find anything in the leaflet about this. and the fact that tis can be done by a DIYer apart from the electrical connection is a bit worrying.

So my question is - are you guys aware of this??

any views on it?

It makes sense to me like when you think about it, not only for an electrical spark but also the heat could warm gas up in the pipe which would make it expand.

If you use insulaton boards then it shouldn't be a problem as no heat transfers down over......

Yeah I did, was just wondering if other people had come across this. Cos it threw me a little tbh phew
