tiling external brick wall

I will be tiling external brick wall but more I think about it the more questions I have:

1. does the brick wall need to be prepared in a special way - ie is there a primer that i need to use to seal it before tiling?

2. adhesive - I was thinking about ARDEX x77 ?

3. are there external metal trims ? if not how do you finish the top so it looks good and water does not go behid the tiles?

4. grout - any recomendations?

I would like to add that the brick wall is on 1950s house, it is in a fairly good condition.

are there any other things that I should consider?

Do you need planning permission and will the next door neighbour get a rates rebate?

Planning permission is not required as the wall is only visible from our garden.

A photo of the wall in question, would be useful, to establish type and condition of brickwork, and any weathering or other issues, that may be relevant.

Not sure what the wall head looks like. Some options are, you tile the wall head, ( with projection over face tile) , coping stone such as concrete, or trim and use sealant, etc. Wall prep, wall from the photo looks good enough to tile, without straightening, in that case would brush apply a couple of coats of SDR, use a good quality cement based flexi adhesive, and perhaps an epoxy grout. All the best.
