Tilers Labourer

Hi all. Just started getting into Tiling and there might be an opportunity for me to work as a tilers labourer. Going to have a trail to see what my grouting is like. If i get taken on he sed he would pay me by m2. Just wondering how much i will be looking at or how much you guys would be willing to pay? I know it would all depend on the job but just looking for a rough guide. thanks all, carl.

Sorry mate, cant even begin to suggest a m2 rate,

Just chipped in to say, your not being employed as a grouter, your being employed as a labourer with an established tiler, Whatever he offers you per m2, think of what you'll be gaining in experience and knowledge of working with him, when your not grouting, you'll be being taught other tiling skills, which in my opinion is priceless.

What ever it is it will have to be at least NMW. If you are over 22 that is £5.52 an hour.

Salary per m2 isn't exactlly ideal imo. What if he does nothing but splashbacks for a month, and you get 2-3m2 per day?

Try to get an hourly salary instead.

may be going off at a tangent here wish I had enough work to employ someone like you willing to learn etc etc learn what you can it can only stand you in good steed my sons 16 working with a sparks and going to college learnt more from the sparks in two months than going to college for a year before anyone says anything sparks 17th edition so more than qualified

i started out on 40 quid a day as a tilers labourer. He just gave me the odd go at this and that, and by the time he retired last year we were working as a two man team rather than as master and apprentice
