Tilemaster Anti Fracture Matting

Hi Lee,

What was the problematic substrate you tiled onto using this matting out of interest that Schluter couldn't guarantee??
It was a large floor, 400 mts of mixed substrate, or parts where wooden and parts where very poor screed. It was in a building that over years had different parts changed and added to it, it was a mess. I wanted the whole floor re Screeded once Schluter said they wouldn't entertain it. That simply wasn't an option at this stage of the project, a lot of mistakes were made in the planing of the job, nothing to do with me I might add. So I was left with a bad situation and luckily through a bit of research and asking about I came across a guy who introduced me to the product.

Crikey mate,

Sounds like a nightmare of a floor area......so you just used the primer, there own brand of addy and then the matting over the whole floor of different substrates......did you still incorporate movement joints using this stuff??

Yes we stabilised the poor screed, primed everything with the approiate primer for the substrate, used their levelling compound, which again was a dream to use and set in well under 3 hours at depths up to 20mm, laid the membrane, waited till it was set and then tiled all using their system of products. It's hard to convey what I'm saying without sounding like an agent for them, but their system was excellent in my opinion and I've a fair bit of experience with floors like this, I genuinely wish I'd of came across these products before hand
