tiled skirting ?

i've a whole ground floor of a house to tile and the customer has asked for tiled skirting instead of wooden skirting.
i've yet to find out the tile type, but all the rooms have been freshly skimmed.
Has any one any tips for tiling like this?
eg... spacing ,tile size, sealing floor to the tile , corners.
also how would i price for this? (the floor is not a problem, just the skirting)

Depending on the area, it will take some time.
Remember to keep the grout lines matched up, that will dictate the gaps.
Take your time in case the floor is not 100% level 'cos you want the skirts level.

I always mitre external corners and usually the upstands are between 70 & 100mm.

You can buy tiles that are skirting shape for that purpose, about 100mm high and use spf to stick to the tile you have already applied and seal to the floor and wall angles

Coincidently just got a job today thats will be my first tiled skirting!

This is interesting because in my market (and many in the US), most all basetrim is wood. I don't think I have ever installed base tile in any room other than a bathroom.

Putting a skirting tile on is becoming more and more popular these days especially when theres a stone floor application, as a rule heights are around 4 inch , 100mm .
