So I was quite pleased with my first stone floor and how it ended turning out.
Have a look and see what you think.
Thanks again to Darren for his advise a wee while back on getting this job done.

The first few are work in progress and the last few are after cleaning.
Turned out pretty nice in the end and some nice details in the slate too.

Very nice m8, how did you find it?

Learnt a LOT on this.
First time using stone as well.
Basically removed the walls (in my mind) and laid out the 3 rooms as one. Took a while, but I had straight lines and rows at every entry point and at every point around the room. I was pleased with that as it looked really great when done.

It sure does

Very nice devonR, are they sealed?? Seen similar on a wall behind the optics in a bar glossy sealed, very nice.

Lovely mate..well done. How long did it take you and how much did you charge??? very impressed with the set out, must have taken a while to find that?

Wicked tiling Dev,Rustic Pearl slate I see OK for £ 1.79 each at guess where! when I did any riven slate, before sealing and grouting, always used to chip level any bits sticking up much higher on the edges with a bolster chisel, always easier to grout up like that. Fabulous work, v.classy, every credit Dev:wink_smile:

Thanks guys, blown away by the feedback to be honest .

The slate was provided for the job, my mate picked it up from B&Q I believe. It was their last 20 boxes on sale as they had discontinued it. He needed 18.75 sqm and the 20 boxes came to........20 sqm. he only paid £180 for the whole lot I think.

Gaz, like you say I took a lot/all of the rough/loose layers off the tiles initially as no doubt they'd end up chipping off anyway in time. Left some nice colouring underneath too which is a bonus.

Thanks again for all the feedback, really appreciate it.
And thanks again to Darren from NETT, he created a monster what can I say!
