Terracotta adhesive.

Hi all,looking to lay handmade 15mm x 300 15sqm terracotta tiles onto a concrete slab.
Been advised to use mapei keraflex maxi s1,my question is
would, Ultra proflex sp+es,be a good alternative as its over 12 pounds a bag cheaper and appears to be same spec.
Also when i come to grout them approx 10mm gaps,what would be best appoach.cheers.

If you are looking to use a slow setting adhesive then, Keraflex maxi would be a good choice in my opinion. You can use Uktracolour plus to grout upto 20mm

you can also use Bal superflex wide joint grout!

you dont need flexible adhesives for a concrete base and with terracotta tiles, just prime the substrate and use standard cement based tile adhesive and save yourself some money, remember to brush off any loose dust off the backs of the tiles and use a good sealer , use a sanded grout for the joints such as Ardex C2 it will give a better finish on this type of tile than mapei ultra colour and wont dry as patchy as the Bal
