Hello everybody. I bought myself a couple of the Silicon sets and think that they are the best thing since sliced bread. The problem I have come across is that I am using LOADS more Silicon. Can anybody tell me if this is just a down side of the product or if I am doing something wrong?

Either way its not really a problem and I would still recommend them to anybody, but I have tried playing around with it to waste less to no avail.

I agree Mark. My partner is getting a bee in his bonnet that we are using to much Silicon.

I dont mind as long as Im not throwing it away by doing something wrong

which set do you use rich? i think i'll have to get one as on a couple of bathrooms lately the silicon has let the job down including today. cheers

I use the Fugi sets but from what I can gather they are all much the same. These are from tradetiler

Tradetiler Tilers Silicon and tools

They take a little getting used to but the finish you can get is amazing, not to mention more water tight. Just be aware that you can expect to triple the amount of Silicon you use

i use the karl dham kit....really good but yes there is wastage of Silicon

ihave also met a Silicon man recently and i use him on larger jobs as hes quick as.....he applies the Silicon and has a stick which is sharpened to the bead thickness,he skooshes soapy water on the Silicon and the stick and smooths it ..no wastage at all and somethign im going to try soon

i have the karl dahm one and don't use anymore just use the finger type from screwfix and soooooooooooo cheap..
