If i tile around a bath with a shower above it and the substrate isnt tanked ,when grouted and siliconed should i seal the grout to stop the water penetrating the surface ?? ( I am going to suggest tanking the wall first )

What's the substrate? Plasterboard, plywood or solid scratched or skimmed?
If it's not solid it's advisable to tank. Solid then a good installation would work IMO.
Iv seen plenty of solid Walls with no tanking and no problems.
Could give the grout a coat of this.. www.csigrout.com I have started to use this product and it is great.
