Attention all Scottish tilers,

I was born in Bellshill, so Scottish by birth ! Love the Scotland though do not get chance to visit very often. Last time was 2 yrs ago, stayed in Edinburgh, 2 nights at Witchery, 2 Glasgow, 2 nights on Bute.
Have prev done Ben Nevis, Loch Ness, Aviemore etc, all touristy bits !

Was wanting suggestions for some beautiful, quiet, friendly, scenic locations for a weeks holiday with my wife and son who will soon be 4 years. Happy to stay in B & B. Also happy to stay a night here and there to see as much as I can.
Any ideas ?
Start and finish points would be appreciated and places in between ?

Bute was absolutely breathtaking, my fave place !! Remember sitting on a quiet bay with my missus, picnic, sun going down watching the seals, heaven !!

:welcome: i reccommend loch lomond..camping...lots of sites on loch and make your own entertainment.

Oban...west coast lovely place ...get a boat to Tobermorie or you might know it Balamory...your son will love that.

Tyndrum...on the road to Oban...stay in the wigwams..great scenery.
Visit the trossachs..all the lochs.Aberfoyle and CALLENDER.
Fort William...go up Ben Nevis and the chairlifts or gondolas.

SKYE.....go over and see the seals on the beaches.

perthshire.....play golf at loads of courses, wife go shopping.

go whitewater rafting in ABERFELDY..i did this in November a few years back.

Edinburgh...castle,Princess street etc

Glasgow...go to IBROX and see the might Glasgow Rangers.
go to Xscape and rock climb, crazy golf, bowling,Kevin Keegans soccer circus,
or just shop and eat there.

North Berwick..on way up or down and just take in the lovely views and enjoy the beach.

AYR..(LOVE THE PLACE)loads of memories as a kid here on the west coast, take a trip to Largs and hop on the boat to Millport for the day and go around the island on a bike.

the list is endless,if you want anymore info pm me or are unsure of places etc.

Try Niddrie or Craigmillar in East Lothian.

Now there's a sight for sore eyes.

Twinned with Bagdad :yikes:

Brilliant, after reading that might even push the boat out and do 2 weeks !
Sam would love "Balamory" and camping is a great idea that I had not thought of, though wife might not be too keen. Off the beaten track is my idea of heaven. Give me 2 weeks in the Highlands rather than 2 weeks abroad any day ! Whatever the weather !!
Thanks

What is Bellshill like now ? Guess not the same as in 1966 when I was born ? Heard the cottage hospital is no longer there ! Oh how times change.
