Rough but sound concrete conservatory floor , how to prepare for tiling ??

Can I use the same primer for the concrete floor prior to SLC as the finished SLC prior to tile adhesive/tiling, or is the latter not necessary ?

Thought about using a weak PVA solution for priming, then found this on the net

your right to avoid using pva!

prime the concrete first, then lay your slc..theres no need to prime the slc, as long as you crack on with the tiling within a couple of days..

Actually yes it does, he botched it with hard mix mortar its been down 20 years, having been covered with fibreboard, hardboard then carpet got fed up changing the carpet every three years due UV decay. Botched bit seems fairly solid though when hitting it with a lump hammer.

if it sounds drummy it may need redoing as it may cause trouble down the track
