Went to measure a job tonight here is a brief description of it and i would like people to tell me what they would charge roughley please.

1 remove approx 10m2 of old tiles,

2 overlay floor with ply approx 4m2,

3 Tile the three walls around the bath from bath edges to ceiling an tile above sink approx 5.5m2 of tiling on walls,

4 tile floor approx 4m2 (cutting around sink & wc or remove both)

5 remove and trim bath panel to make room for new floor tiles,

6 remove and trim door for same reason as above.

All tiles are porcelain and the walls require two borders one in middle and one along top.

1. Half day rate
2. Half day rate + materials
3. 25 psm + materials (and border)
4. Day rate (including removal/installation of sanitary ware) + materials (Tile & Plumbing)
5/6. £20

Remember you will need to go back the next day and drill the appliances into the tiles and seal with Silicon.

Nice little job that is mate 🙂

Or if your struggling to get through the porcelain with the drill, then liquid nails works a treat 😉

One more thing, you can bed the pan in to the floor with a bit of compo mix too, or tile adhesive.

Sorry mate i was curious as to how much others would charge cos i already quoted at £350 and she said it was too expensive and she has got someone to do it for (wait for it ) £130

Ps he said he can finish it in the day

There's a fair bit to do in a day there! Jesus! I'd have charged well for that job myself. What exactly I don't know without seing it, but it would have been nearer the £350 if not a little more to be honest.

Let the £1 man do the job. 😛

but while there's music and laughter, love and romance...."

Need I say more?

Matty A,

You have access to the Pro's room don't you? You could have posted this thread in there to prevent your customer seeing it in the future. I'm ok with it being in here though. Let me know if you want me to move it mate.

Jesus christ man, see what I mean?!?!? That type of ridiculous quote is what I am having to compete with here in the midlands.

People are warned about going with the cheapest all the time - you see it on the t.v, hear it on the radio and even hear from first hand experiences from other people.

But they still don't learn.

Unbeleivable.

By the way, I was pushing over £400, this included braided hoses and service valves etc for the toilet / sink etc and other plumbing bits.

For a 100% perfect job. 🙂

lads i might have to price a job on 30 new builds in south wales anyone tell me what the going rate is on site for floors and walls please

Tanner - 15-18psm labour only. Then your bits on top of that if they want you to supply. Negaotiate a deal with your local tile shop for a discounted price on bulk order. Even better, go straight to the manufacturer.

Let me know if you need a hand on site.

Good luck 🙂

Can't believe that quote at £130 - porcelian an'all. I think that has got to be a complete numpty who is going to get the shock of their lives or, the customer is just trying it on and plucked a ridiculous figure out of the air.
