Hi all. Just registered and could do with a little advice on under floor heating, Got a chap who has laid my warm up loose wire heating system with 1 x xtat. He has fitted the floor sensor directly into the mix. Should lt not be fitted in a tube?

Its advisable to have the sensor in a tube but it will work either way. The problem will come if you ever need to replace the sensor. This way at least one tile will have to be removed and you may risk damaging the UFH whilst doing so. With the sensor probe in a tube its simply a case of replacing the sensor by pulling old one out and rethreading the new one through the tube.

Devi comes with a tube, I always chase it into the subfloor. For reasons stated above.

Warm up used to be supplied with a tube but wayne is right they do not supply one now and suggest probe to be put in adhesive, obvioulsy they are confident in the product. Gives you a more accurate reading without a tube.
