Nicobond plastic ply...whats the verdict on this product as i have never used it.Comments appreciated good or bad.

i know you like your cement boards Dave, have you tried the plastic ply?Is it just laid on top of floorboards without any fixings?

Apparantly you stick it down just like peelable sticky back plastic...after PVA'ing the floor first.

would this not have to be butted hard against the edge of the room and to each other"plastic ply" sheet to prevent movement,or is it relying on the weight of the tiling to prevent movement?
might be worth considering though if it is quicker!

i used it and its good if the floor is level like a chipboard floor, wouldnt bother over uneven or crap floorboards.
also you need to prime the floor 1st, but make sure it has dried fully before you try to stick the plastic ply down as it wont bond.
at 1st i was a bit scepticle but once the tiles where fixing they where pushing the plastic ply down more making more of a contact, generaly though if it fail you will have a carpet of tiles, 7/10

we have used it on one chipboard floor and we didn't like it, pva the floor, stick the plastic [ply down , fill with rapidset, then apply a second coat of rapidset & fix tile. the only thing we use it for now is if we can not remove the window sill and there is no room for a plaster board then we use the plastic ply on it

 I'm sure you meant acrylic prime

got a brochure through from one of my suppliers for "tilemesh" similar thing really, it does have countersunk holes for fixing about 5 screws, I thought I'd look on their website, scanned the brochure from cover to cover and couldn't find a web address!!
