PLASTER REPAIR BEFORE TILING ADVICE

What would you suggest to repair this prior tiling.

One coat plaster.

Is it fibreboard?

Not sure as not seen , been sent photo. Goin to look.tomoz. They believe it's bonding plaster

Probably sand lime mortar , give it a good pva and skim it with multi or similar.
Or knock it off and bonding and skim,I take it it’s just a splash back and not a bathroom

Yes it's just a kitchen splashback

Take off the old tile adhesive ,give it a good coat of Acrylic primer & use a white powdered tiled adhesive at most it 3mm of skim coat missing

As above , skim it with fast set tile adhesive.
