Old floor boards

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

Hello. I’m new to this forum and new to tiling! I’m just looking for some advice on tiling a bathroom floor.
I have an old 200 year old house and the bathroom floor is currently the old thick original floorboards and they are in a reasonable state. They are not completely level each one in and out by only a few mm. with a 5mm gap between each.

I thought by laying 6mm cement board to evenly level the floor and then use some ditra matting on top. For 20cmx20cm tiles.
Would this be suitable for this type of floor!

thank you in advance!

Screw floor boards down, check for pipes first and no bounce in floor
Screw down cement boards with tile adhesive under it as per manufacturer specifications
No need for ditra
