Cant do plunge cuts as the guard is in the way, and yes table does rut up a fair bit.

Cant do plunge cuts as the guard is in the way, and yes table does rust up a fair bit, as its not stainless steel.

Ah so the guard can be removed at all? thats suprising considering all the good reviews its received. Or do its + points out weigh its -?

Do you own this type of saw Phil?

I have got one and I think for the cash it is an excellent buy. Mine came with 2 blades and they whizz through porcelain without any problems. The guides are not aligned as accurately as they could be but once you are used to that it is fine. Never tried removing the guard so not sure if they come off.

The guard does come off to an extent. I've managed to do plunge cuts with mine. The top does rust a bit but over all its a top cutter. Have lost my little rubber bung though that sits in the drain hole. Pesky little thing. Got some electrical tape over the hole currently :yikes:

Have just bought a Norton clipper tt 200 em.
Had a quick blast on it seems very good, appears to have a good spec,2 discs and a 800w motor.
Was tempted to go for the Rubi nd 200 but the differance in cost should pay for a decent laser level
