mixing brands

I was just wondering how many tilers mix brands while fixing and grouting ie. stick with bal then grout with mapei and how many use the same adhesive and grout from the same manufacturer ?

Good question Gary, I do mix adhesives and grout ie. Mapei adhesive, Norcross grout etc. The only thing I would never do is use a different primer. If I use say Keraquick adhesive I always use primer G

pretty much the same as phil only i prefer to use bal grouts as i find them easier to work with not sure why but i do. always use the same primer as adhesive

very rarely I cross brand Gary, but my suppliers all seem to stock the one brand anyway

Mix all the time concerning adhesive and grout, the best price takes me to different outlets.

I use whatever is cheap!
At present I find Webber very competitively priced adhesive but I've never used their grout.
If the colour is right I use Mapei grouts but will use Sovereign white grout.
Always use Mapei Fibreplan.

Most customers supply over here so its mostly same all round,i don't be afraid to mix personally.

Tend to always use BAL but thats to do with location more than anything , but no concerns over mixing, Mapei do the best grouts IMO but its not always possible for me to get to TG :smilewinkgrin:

I dont like to mix brands of addy and grout,

Currently I use Benfer products,

I prefer to have a consistency of product that i Know the characteristics of.
