Mixing Adhesive

Do you mix by hand or with a whisk / drill attachment?

Tiled my kitchen floor with Ardex 7001. tried to use a whisk but think it was a bit big. My drill struggled to mix and then started to smoke!!!:sad_smile:

mixing by hand. you need arms like garth..........paddle mix all the time...

paddle mix every time, no lumpy grout if you use this method.

paddle mix and grout whisk on electric drill.Burnt out a drill trying to mix adhesive using whisk,adhesive too heavy.🙁

being a plasterer i have my mixer with me all the time so it's a whisk for me.
grout is done by hand

Adhesive mixer, drills can't handle adhesive, they will just burn out, ok for grout though.

My drill handles adhesive..........its a cheapo from Wickes.

Came with a 5 year guarantee........on my 3rd now........2 burnt out. Exchanged straight away:wink_smile:

i mix by hand but only because i have still to buy a mixer my cordless isnt taking the punishement
