Hot water pipes under Hardi backer boards

Hi guys ,

Been to have a look at 4 bathroom floors for a builder and there is a hot water system under 6mm Hardi backer boards, never come across it before so I'm interested if any of you guys would consider tiling onto this and if so what would be your method of apllication as I was thinking of bal rapid set fibre plus or an S2 but after speaking to bal today they told me they couldn't guarantee any of there products with that system......any feedback would be interesting?......I'm speaking to Hardi in the morning just wondering what you all think or have you come across this practises in the past?

how's the hardie fixed? Screwed to joists'?

Hi Julian,

Yes, with the hot water pipes all sitting in between in a specific material I can't remember the name of......Bal mentioned it earlier on which is what this system is but they again said that they couldn't guarantee there materials based on that construction
