Hi, Im new to the forum, thought it cant hurt to have a look.
Ive been fitting kitchens for a few years now and always ended up doing the tiling.
Found i was pretty good and done quite a bit over the last 18 mths. Looking to get back into some good work in the coming weeks. Ive had about 6 mths not doing much except looking after my little girl. Now her Nans doing that for me so i can get back to work, cant wait. Tilings good, pays okay, and so much less hassel than kitchen fitting.
Anyway someone get back to me, interested to know what rates people are charging for private and trade work.
regards

Thanks for the reply fella.
Mate, i am so computer thick, ive never been on a forum before and its taken me 40 minutes to sus out how to read my message and reply to you.
Anyway i,m from sunny south wales, just outside cardiff.
the rates around here are about £22 trade including matts and more if you can get it for private. It really depends on the job i guess. The main thing i find is that i like to do good work, and that takes time and time equals money. I find alot of people simply dont wany to pay the rates, others are happy and think the qoutes are very reasonable.
Not sure what you ment by the four weekers, but its pretty easy to get jobs over the compe***ion here if you want because they are so bloody greedy. The real problems here are people who have been to B&Q bought a cutter and off they go. Anyway on the subject of tools, i use rubi but have used sigma and am very impressed.

Thanks for the reply anyway mate
speak soon

same as you darren i use rubi tools aswell both hand and eletric, have used them for years and never had any faults good luck with your hunt for work.

Thanks fella, gretaly appreciated

Hello there
Listen guys, i am not sure if this message will get directly to all the people who have wecomed me.
Anyway thank you all, for a guy coming back to work after a period of workin part time and looking after my new born ( trust me work is easier ) its nice to have words of support. I took a bit of a punt going onto a forum as its not something ive ever done before. In my opinon tiling is a little lonely and very under appreciated by both customers and other trades. This i know as ive worked fitting kitchens for years and have always been amazed by the lack of respect by plumbers and chippies ( no offence to you understanding plumbers and chippies ) for tiling as a skilled trade even though most of them choose not to do it themselves.Yes a slightly bold thing to say but it is bank hols and ive had a few bevvies. Anyway the point is its great to get responses from so many pros within hours of first entering the forum.
Thanks for the messages guys
Regards
Darren:wink_smile:
