Slate tiles again here. When putting underfloor heating (electric) on to Marmox I was going to put down self-leveling compound to hold mat in place and to stop me nicking a cable (it's Teflon coated but I'm not a tiler!) I've been advised that I should use flexible adhesive instead as slc is too rigid (the marmox is fixed down to ply). Does this sound like a good idea? And which adhesive do people like these days?

I would use s.l.c for that mate

SLC isn't too thick or rigid of you get a decent make. Go for Mapei flexible SLC and adhesive (not 100% on their actual brand names, I'm sure somebody else will reply with them). Though there are other decent brands too. Just avoid the cheap stuff from DIY sheds. Go a proper tile shop for it.

A monitor from Underfloor Heating | Electric | Floor Insulation | Uheat (you might need to give them a call as I don't know if it's listed on their site) is something that informs you if you've snagged the cable at any point and lost continuity. Could save you quite a few quid as it can then be repaired before you carry on which prevents you from needing to pull tiles up later which can be a nightmare with UFH under it.

slc completely over ufh using flexy slc, and then tile with rapid flex adhesive, check out mapei products , is there a tile giant near you,they will have all tou need

Poole is nearest but trying to order all on-line. Problem is finding everything I want under one roof to reduce shipping costs. So here are the questions:Best-
1. Adhesive - for both wall and floor (Aquapanel and Marmox on ply)
2.Grout (grey/charcoal, as above)
3. Sealer (satin) LTP or Lithofin?
4. slc (flexi) just don't know the brands
