why involve innocent people , just go away and shoot yourself if you have to

what a terrible tragedy

They've found his body now, sounds like he took his own life too.

Sick of hearing about it, been on the news all day. they've repeated the same 10 sentences a good 1000 times. Milking it for everything using locals and leading questions to try and get them say they're very shocked an upset and blah blah blah.

Thoughts go out to the families involved like, but the BBC and Sky have really being making a bigger story out of it than it is.

I only just heard about it, Dan ... and thought immediately of Doug and family, glad they've gone camping somewhere else.... it's just so sad ... and I agree fully with Mike.

BBC radio reporter asking questions

"so were you scared?"

"Did you see the gunman? what was he doing?"

"so the body that was under a blanket, was he dead?"

Stupid idiotic questions.

:mad2: I agree with Mike as well.

Oh yeah, never thought of Doug! Nice to know he is off elsewhere.

Very strange going on as all the locals keep saying he was a quiet nice bloke, and the harder the news try to get them say he's mental or crazed or something the more they reply 'no, no, he was nice, quiet, this is very strange, it never happens here' sort of thing.

It's the news I have a grudge with on this one, clearly I'm a bit shocked (or was when i first heard about it around 11am) that we have a killer on the loose in the UK! Sounds like something you'd hear about in the US.

Wow! 12?!?!?! I kept hearing 5. He must have had some issues with something for that to go on. Very very strange for such a quiet place.

This is where i live and i was working in whitehaven this morning where it was all happening. unfortunately i know some of the victims and i am devestated.

I think out of respect for the familys and friends who av lost close ones today this tread should be stopped before it gets out of hand and lets our thoughts be with them poor souls

time to bring back national service and capital punishment and start enforcing family and community values on people!

society has went bonkers, all you need to do is pick up the daily rag and some other bampot has made an unforgettable name for himself by being a scumbag and ruining the lives of others nad there families/loved ones

my thoughts go out to the victims and their families...just goes to show, you dont know what goes on in a persons mind sometimes..

I listened to this all on my radio today horrified to think of what the poor innocent victims and their families were going through, hope we all can pray for these people.
tragic.

RIP THE VICTIMES, and my thoughts go to the poor family's of the innersent .why?:incazzato:

thoughts are with all concerned

we had a similar exp years ago at tourist area in tas Port Arthur and from memory the gunman took 35 lives 25 wounded and for no reason why
hes in prison for life
they changed the gun laws here due to it you now have to have a licence and firearms must be locked at all times separate to ammunition
but still wont stop someone going off

Is it just me that thinks this country is becoming more and more like the US?

God bless.

Watching the news and it looks like he flipped out over his mothers will and then went on a killing spree killing as many people he had falling outs with in the past and took the lives of many innocents along the way.

Should the gun laws be changed?

IMO, No.

That like this alcohol price increase thing. You're not really tackling the problem. the few of the thousands that drink that cause the rest to pay more probably still will buy drink, or make their own. In the gun situation, perhaps they'd just run around with a knife, how would we stop that?

I think in this case, it's just unique and the guy had issues, probably ones nobody could have stopped. But only his family could have done, and perhaps they tried, as the first person he killed was his twin.

In the drinking situation they shouldn't increase the price, and us be the first country in the world to do so without evidence it works, and should spend more effort fixing the dodgy estates out that are renowned for having teen drinkers causing asbo issues.

Anyway, as I said already, my thoughts go out the to families involved and I hope this doesn't happen again. This isn't like a dodgy serial killer situation its more a bloke lost the plot for a few hours resulting in very unusual deaths. And that's the sort of thing that's harder to stop than the weirdos that do similar things.

i think it is time to have all guns even air arms ,removed from society . there i have said it!!!:yikes:

I agree completely, gooner-Dave. We used to have guns at home, and I like shooting, am good at it, always win stuff on fairs, etc, but I can live without it, and contrary to knives which cause enough heartache at least long range random deaths cannot be caused with them. But, of course it's not policeable, same old story, but yes, in my ideal world there wouldn't be any guns either. You never going to do any good with them are you? Not doing harm is not the same as doing good.

Prem, we will probably never know, my thoughts are with the bereaved families.Very sad.

One of my close friends(also work coleague) lost both his parents to the gunman, Still cant beleive it. working in Egremont over the last 2 days and its just unbeleiveable, flowers etc just laying on the side of the roads were the victims had fallen. only last week i was working in seascale and visited the shops everyday where some of the other victims were gunned down.
