grout line thickness?

thanks... they are uniform size arnt they? is it not just the actual thickness of the tile?

Theyre four sizes in a pattern. not actually seen them yet apart from on the display board a topps. They look horrendous with their thickness' which is why i thought id nip on.

Mr 't' - I'am not sure if an eye joint has a definitive measurement value as in 5/6mm or similar, or indeed if there is a relevant British Standard for Uncalibrated slate, however it is often considered that with tiles of varying sizes a regular joint sizes formed by using a consistent thickness of spacer peg will not provide a straight line in the layout.
Therefore by using a chalk line and keeping it between the tiles with equal distance either side ( judged by using 1 eye open and the other closed - eye line) then this will provide the required joint size. Hope this helps.

I saw the type your onabout in b&q they look like they would be really hard to lay since theres such a huge difference in thickness... I did see a post on here yesterday tho about sorting the tiles out in order of depth and using the thickest first then increasing the thickness of the bed as you go along which is a really good idea

Definately got to 'eyeline these buggars in.sending this on my phone so cant upload a pic but they are all different sizes. Is going to be a mare but will look good when im done. Thanks again for the advice
