Hi, this is my first post on this forum and I'm looking for something that will cut 20mm sandstone flags. ( a patio project on the go) I was wondering if this Dewalt would do the trick and if so, is anyone wanting to get rid of one, in the Lancashire area

Dewalt dwc410 question

Thinking of purchasing a Dewalt dwc410 hand held wet saw. Does anyone know if you can use a 115mm blade with the right bore size rather than the 110mm blade that it comes with?

hi tsb, I merged your post today with the thread you started yesterday, seen as it's about the same tool. Should be helpful in keeping all of your replies in one place.

Just 1last time,i would use a grinder with a good blade in( or a styl as dave as said) a dewalt saw like that one would be babba, poo ,a bit rubbish on hard stone ,may as well buy a plasplug and give that a go 😉

Thanks for your replies. I have use of a sthil type saw (a bit overkill for 20mm sandstone) and I have a large and small grinder, all three cut the flags no problem. What I can't get with them is a perfect straight line. If I was just cutting them for the edge of the patio I wouldn't be as bothered. My idea was to use the Dewalt with a homemade guide rail like my Festool kit but with the blade from my small grinder in it but this blade is 115mm.

The consensus here seems to be that the Dewalt is crap but it got favourable reviews on this forum when it first came out (been reading through old threads). What has happened to this tool over the years for the change of opinion?

Phil, that's the sort of cut I need to do.

Dave, whats the best blade for the dewalt, or can you retro-fit a 115mm cutter.

I personally don't like them, but not everyone likes or handles the same tools.
A steady hand and a straight edge has done me fine on stonework.
If you are doing a lot of jobs why not invest in a big table saw?

I got one but you need something with low profile as a guide rail, because the motor hangs so low on deep cuts and the plastic water feed nozzle is rubbish
