Hi All,
My name is wayne, I work for a large internet based swimming pool company. I am for ever turning away commercail tiling jobs of both swimming pools and changing areas/ surrounds. I feel that as a company that we are missing out on some pretty beefy contracts. I would like to know if any of you guy ubdertake such work. I am looking to bulid up a working relationship with some trusted partners. All I ask is that we get the swimming pool equipment. The tiler can have all tile sales/labour unless specialist tile are required.
These leads are from commercial leisure centres and schools mainly. Most of the projects are large so may not be suited for one man bands. Currently I have a lead for a school project near Watford. I await your responses.

I think with contracts that size it's a whole new ball game, Insurance, Health and safety and retention monies. Maybe worth running along side a larger contractor

you will need plenty of dough for a start, and some trusted fixers, but before that you need to satisfy the H&S stuff, have your staff CSCS card holders, etc, etc. it's a pain to get reg'd up and paper'd up if you go for it as a full-on contractor it's best to ease in perhaps on smaller jobs first and make your way up the ladder......my 2 cents

oli - thanks, just worked it out a while back, regards

Hi, I am a Commercial Tiler, I usually work up and down the Country, I have a team of Tilers with me, Do you have any work at the moment, as I have had a few contracts cancelled due to the credit crunch,

Thanks Brian

hi there i am currently starting out on my own and would be interested in gettin some contracts like this.. i would be able to get more labour so dont worry bout that side..have you got anymore detail like how much jobs are worth? thanks

i think others are right here definetly if you ve just started out tiling then this one is abit beyond you i think start of with smaller jobs then work your way up tackling a pool is a different ball game with no experience you will struggle ive seen lots of course tilers taking on jobs they cant handle and mess up i dont mean this to sound harsh but dont bite off more than you can chew
