an old family member (now long since passed) used to swim every Christmas day near Bournemouth - can remember seeing him afterwards and he always said the same thing..."It was too warm to be refreshing". MAD!!!

There will be the boxing day dress-up float race again this year in Scarborough, and yes people swim in the sea for charity, too, I think the thousands of watcher to the few who are brave enough tells enough of a story!! Wonderful day usually, she says..watching happily...:lol:

I was in Barmouth a number of years ago. If you ever been to Barmouth you know it's too damned cold to swim there in the Summer - let alone Christmas but there they were. I was wrapped in me hat scarf and big coat cheering them on. Great fun...:lol:

Porthcawl(****ters dip)is what my old man calls it...love it there in the summer,especially a nice hot day...many good memories down there.
