Thanks Phil & Slower - I have figured out the wraparound - I think I was thrown off course because I had been looking at a couple of brochures, B&Q, Johnson tiles etc., and the photos show the opposite, each tile matches in width around the corners - it looks ok because they are large tiles, but will go with the wrap around - love a challenge!!

It was watching this video which threw me also - he starts from corner and doesn't wrap around !![ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssmmZDTKfvM]YouTube - How To Tile A Bathroom Wall - Doing The Job[/ame]

Popeye i wouldnt take too much notice of that video. You dont have a grout joint in the corner, it a Silicon joint. And dont tile over painted plaster, your tiles will only be stuck to the paint!

Im not sure but he could also be using tubbed adhesive as they mention leaving overrnight for the adhesive to go off. That tile is far too big for tubed addy :yikes:

I think I'm going to post some videos on car mechanics. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely no mechanic, but I reckon if I use a "Mechanic It Yourself" title then I should be okay; I'm going to mock up a logo too .

I'm going to start by showing how to bleed brakes and replace brake pads but only show 50% of the technique required and produce a disclaimer that says it ain't my fault you hit a tree.

Your video post shows two "boys" gently placing tiles onto adhesive that is not suitable for the size of tile and then very quickly skipping over the grouting process. Please do not follow any of the advice in this video footage! Wrong adhesive, poor fixing technique and no advice as to correct grouting techniques.

I forgot to mention that he has paid absolutely no attention to setting out the room.

hi just set out every wall first so u know wat size cuts you have got you can pinch a bit here and there and it does look better if tiles fold round,

obviousy not every wall can accomodate the wrap around effect.
u shaped kitchens where teh window and cooker are on the same wall can cause havoc
i have set out where no matter what you do you will end up with a ridiculous cut somewhwere so you have to alter a corner somewhere to suit but as long as it's in the ball park then you should be ok:thumbsup:

Hi Look forward to the Mechanics video!! I agree about the adhesive. Have figured the wall out now! Its a small bathroom and in one corner there is a post that juts out - worked it out the smallest cut will be 14cm ...in my head its working, proof is in the pudding! Have a good w/end guys.
